Abs: Planks vs. Core

By February 29, 2016No Comments

MORE ABS Strong Core- tailored from Dave Parise CPT FPTA MES on Vimeo.

What came first the Plank or the Tree? Did we need a strong tree to make a straight plank? We are trying to say this: All the planks in the world will not make a strong core. YOU must have a strong active core to maintain a perfect plank. Does that make sense to you?  How many times do you see someone with their butt in the air, head dropped forward, and hands clasped? This is a compensation pattern (efficient position) which is far from optimal alignment. We thought a plank was a straight line! Google “Local and Global muscles” or “Inner and outer muscles” We will ask you about muscles that expand over a certain amount of joints…VS. the muscles that stabilize intersegmentally.
