We recommend to depress the shoulder blade prior to training the surrounding musculature. Why? Can you guess? Do you think we may have shortened the muscles in the posterior cervical area during the day? The muscles that attach to the base of the skull and run down to the spine of the scapula? Poor posture alone can play havoc on our muscular system. We can relax those short / tight muscles by depressing the shoulder girdle with minimum load.
